Welcome to the Speaker Recognition Homepage

Introduction

As human beings, we are able to recognize someone just by hearing him or her talk. Usually, a few seconds of speech are sufficient to identify a familiar voice.

The idea to teach computers how to recognize humans by the sound of their voices is quite evident, as there are several fruitful applications of this task.

This web site is dedicated to automatic speaker recognition, which can be viewed as the intersection of two areas of computer science, namely natural language technologies and biometrics.

The main goal of this site is to summarize methods that have been developed in the field from a scientific point of view. Distinct kinds of applications of automatic speaker recognition are compared. Finally, links to sites of interest are collected.
